Summary
At 15, I found a Jeep and enough mud to bury it. Decades later, I found the photographs.
The Museum of Dumb Ideas exhibit now documents an early demonstration of confidence exceeding experience, the discovery that four-wheel drive is not a recovery plan, and the outside assistance required when the original theory stopped moving.
Accomplishments
- Added a full museum-style exhibit with accession number
MDI-0002. - Preserved the two surviving photographs as exhibit artifacts.
- Updated the Museum index to place the Jeep Incident on permanent display.
- Extended the Museum styling with a reusable artifact gallery.
Lessons Learned
Confidence is not traction.
This conclusion was available in the 1980s, but apparently required a full-scale field experiment.
